Tomorrow, 19th December I start my final event of the year - 4 days at Spitalfields Arts Market. This will be the sixth time I have taken part in this excellent occasion along with about another dozen artists with a great variety of affordable art. Visitors to the Arts Market have an opportunity to purchase unique works and at the same time talk directly to the artist. Long days but always enjoyable. Open from around 1000 each day.
Coincidentally the January 2014 edition of Outdoor Photography is available from tomorrow and I am very much looking forward to seeing it as I am told one of my pictures will feature in Reader Gallery. Taken a few years ago at the end of a blustery day on the beach at Embleton in Northumberland. I am very pleased to have made Outdoor Photography as this magazine contains stunning landscape images from a number of photographers whose work I hold in high regard and for me to be now in the same publication is of great satisfaction and a nice way to end the year.
My landscape work is my main interest but the need to get photographic assignments from other areas is necessary and important and I am pleased to say I seem to be getting more occasional commissions but always ready to take on more.
Plans for events next year are in their early stages but I am pleased to have been invited along with 5 other photographers to take part in an exhibition at a gallery in Suffolk during February. I will have more details in the new year.
That's just about it for this year, thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
Best wishes and I leave you with one of my final images of 2013 taken the other day on a flying visit to Macclesfield. Just as the sun started to peep above the hills of Cheshire the sharp light picked out these silver birch at the foot of Teggs Nose reflected in the eponymous reservoir.
